Gold Fame Citrus Redux

2016

33x33 (series of 3) | watercolor, glitter on cut paper with brass frame and velvet inlay, museum glass | 2016

Gold Fame Citrus Redux 2-4 are elements of landscapes that embody this idea using both natural and synthetic silhouetted form. This hybrid space emerges from my methodical paper-cutting technique and incessant audiobook listening. The polished brass frames and velvet boarder inlays fetishizes the idea of a shrivelled, once opulent land formed out of dwindling water resources in Los Angeles. (As exemplified by Claire Vaye Watkins in her novel, Gold Fame Citrus.)
